STANLEY STREET / CASE STUDY
Tātaki Auckland Unlimited
Te Matatini

Celebrating the return of Te Matatini with performers, photography and film that brought the energy of kapa haka to Auckland.
When Te Matatini returned after its pandemic interruption, Tāmaki Makaurau was preparing to host the celebration of kapa haka. Working with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, Stanley Street developed a campaign that connected the festival’s return with Auckland’s identity as a place of culture.
The creative work featured leading performers, with carefully composed photography and a film set to a contemporary soundtrack. Across its channels, the campaign brought the intensity and presence of haka into public view, inviting a wider audience to share in the anticipation and welcome the festival back.
